Course Description
The Careers with Children Program provides essential knowledge and skills for anyone interested in starting a career as an early childhood educator. The program consists of two courses taken concurrently for one semester: one focusing on theories for understanding children’s development and the other on effective practices for working with young children, which includes gaining competency in using the DRDP to assess children’s growth. Students who successfully complete all the program requirements will qualify for the Child Development Assistant Permit with the California Teaching Credentialing Office.
Pre-requisites:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Read and write in English at a high school level
- Have a high school diploma or GED
