Careers with Children

Course Description
The Careers with Children Program provides essential knowledge and skills for anyone interested in starting a career as an early childhood educator. The program consists of two courses taken over two consecutive semesters: one focusing on theories for understanding children’s development and the other on effective practices for working with young children, which includes gaining knowledge in using the DRDP to assess children’s growth. Students who successfully complete all the program requirements will qualify for the Child Development Assistant Permit with the California Teaching Credentialing Office. Students who do not meet the English language requirements may enroll in ELL Pathway for Child Development, which will support students in the English skills required to take the course.
