English as a Second Language and Citizenship
Registration for the English as a Second Language, including citizenship, program 2024-25 school year is closed. Registration information for the 2025-26 school year will be available on this webpage in early-July. We will send you an email later in the summer once registration for 2025-26 begins.
Course Description
Our FREE English as a Second Language (ESL) and Citizenship classes for adults (18 and over) in the Greater Sacramento Area, are offered from beginning to intermediate levels on a continuous basis. These classes focus on communication for work, home, school, and the community. They help develop and improve communication skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Students improve their English grammar, to gain important life skills, and learn more about American culture. Classes have continuous enrollment throughout the school year. All students must take a placement test and attend an orientation session to determine the appropriate level for class placement. Students will be placed into open classes after the registration process is complete.
