PLEASE NOTE: Registration for ESL classes remains open. However, currently nearly all classes have a waiting list. Please be aware that it will likely be a month or more before we can send you an appointment for an ESL Orientation and placement testing, and much longer than that to enroll in a class. We strongly encourage you to go to https://www.capitaladulted.org/ for a list of other adult schools in our region that offer ESL programs.

Course Description
Our FREE English as a Second Language (ESL) and Citizenship classes for adults (18 and over) in the Greater Sacramento Area, are offered from beginning to intermediate levels on a continuous basis. These classes focus on communication for work, home, school, and the community. They help develop and improve communication skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Students improve their English grammar, to gain important life skills, and learn more about American culture. Classes have continuous enrollment throughout the school year. All students must take a placement test and attend an orientation session to determine the appropriate level for class placement. Students will be placed into open classes after the registration process is complete.
